Hi! I’m Naomi, and until a few weeks ago, I was deeply skeptical about “diets.” I’d tried them all: calorie counting, meal prepping, Paleo, you name it. But nothing ever stuck. Perhaps because none of them felt like they really fit me.
Then, by total accident, I stumbled on something called Your Type, Your Diet: Personality-Based Weight Loss That Works. (Don’t bother Googling it. I found it through a friend of a friend who’s an early tester. Lucky me, I guess!)
I took a short quiz and ended up with these scores:
Curiosity: High
Affability: Medium
Responsibility: Low
Extraversion: Low
Sensitivity: High
It was spooky how much these explained why I eat the way I do. Like how my high Curiosity means I love trying new foods. No wonder I’m always the first to suggest that new Thai place. But with low Responsibility, I can get a bit… let’s say casual about planning meals. My kitchen has definitely seen its fair share of last-minute pasta!
Your Type, Your Diet didn’t judge me for it. Instead, it offered gentle strategies:
High Curiosity? Keep exploring new cuisines, but also find a few “reliable standbys” so I don’t get overwhelmed by choice.
Low Responsibility? Rather than setting strict meal plans, create a loose rhythm I actually enjoy, like having my favorite breakfast ready but leaving dinner open for spontaneity.
High Sensitivity? Recognize when I’m reaching for comfort food because of stress. A quiet cup of herbal tea and five minutes of journaling have become my new go-to pause before deciding what to eat.
What really hooked me was how kind it all felt. No shame, no “bad foods,” just a gentle nudge to see how my personality shapes what’s on my plate.
I’ve been following it for three weeks, and for the first time in ages, eating feels… easy. Like it’s an extension of who I already am, not something I have to force.
Oh, and one more thing: there’s a catch. Your Type, Your Diet: Personality-Based Weight Loss That Works doesn’t actually exist. At least not yet. I made up Naomi and this entire “testimonial” to demonstrate how understanding your personality could shape your eating habits, whether there’s a “diet” for it or not.
Curious to learn more about how your personality shapes what’s on your plate? That’s the real invitation here. Not to follow some new diet book, but to notice the stories your traits are already telling you every day.
Please let me know what you think, especially if you recognize any of your own patterns in this little story of mine.
Cheers,
Jon

What an interesting idea!
Ahhh, I do the same plate clearing thing. It’s almost impossible for me to leave food; it seems wasteful and wrong. If I realize early enough that the meal is too large, I consciously leave a large enough portion to take home. These are not things I particularly want to do, but instead feel somewhat compelled to do.
The high curiosity, low responsibility characterizations resonate with me as well. I want to try it all, and can seldom be bothered to cook only for myself (though I’m a pretty good cook and enjoy making recipes for others). You definitely rang the bell for me with this email.
